With the shutdown to schools in some areas, we needed to ensure that our students still had access to education. We ensured that the girls within our scholarship program had devices to enable them to continue their education. Phones were the best way to ensure that this happened.
During the lockdowns of 2020 the girls in our scholarship program faced food insecurity. We came up with innovative ideas to raise money ensuring they had access to monthly food packages. We were given a house to renovate, so Matika and I rolled up our sleeves and learned new skills. We now rent this property out to a local family in need with the rent covering the food security program.
